RAINE
Cream Tuxedo Piebald
Our little ray of good fortune.
When we brought Raine home, she arrived alongside another beautiful little cream girl. Somehow, we felt that their names should belong together, so we called them Raine and Winter.
I think when you name a dog, you are always searching for a little sign — a name that means something to you, reminds you of something special, or simply feels right when you look into their eyes. And with Raine, the name just came naturally.
Raine has the sweetest little speckles of blue in her eyes, and when I looked at her, she simply looked like Raine to me. There was something soft and beautiful about her that reminded me of rain — gentle, peaceful and refreshing.
But to me, Raine means so much more. Raine has become a symbol of good luck in my life, and I truly believe that she came into our lives for a reason. Her name carries a little piece of that feeling with her wherever she goes.
Winter, of course, arrived in the middle of winter, and being such a beautiful, pale little girl, we thought the two names were simply perfect together — Raine and Winter, like two little seasons that were meant to find each other.
Raine is very much my husband's shadow. Wherever he goes, she wants to be right there beside him. She has a kind and loving nature and a soft, sweet heart that makes her incredibly special.
She can also be a little bit of a scatterbrain, which is part of what makes her so funny! She has her own wonderfully quirky ways of doing things and has a personality that never fails to make us smile. She is playful, affectionate and full of those little moments that make life brighter.
Raine truly is a little light in our lives. She brings laughter, love and a gentle kind of happiness wherever she goes.
And perhaps that is what her name means to me most of all — a little reminder that sometimes the most beautiful things arrive in our lives when we aren't even looking for them.
