Madash is our striking Chocolate Dapple Piebald with a spirit as wild as his name suggests. Always one step ahead, he’s constantly busy plotting his next little naughty trick—clever, independent, and full of personality. And of course, he has a soft spot for the girls, always keeping a watchful (and slightly mischievous) eye on them.

His name comes from a place very close to my heart—my dear friend’s beautiful farm in Sabi Sand Game Reserve, where we escape to at least once a year. My favourite moments are our game drives through the bush, especially the thrill of hoping to spot the elusive African wild dogs. In Kruger National Park, they’re often called “Madash,” and from the moment I met him, the name felt perfect. There’s something about his alert, curious nature and quiet intensity that mirrors them so beautifully.

Though he’s always off discovering something new or getting into a bit of trouble, beneath it all lies a gentle, soft soul. Madash loves in his own unique way—subtle, sincere, and deeply felt.
